Background: Dylan Banks was born of unusual circumstances. Born in 1998, Dylan is the hybrid son of a fertility Goddess known as Nerthus and a Human male. While his mother was pregnant, she kept him a secret from his birth father until the day of his birth, when she would appear in Julian’s living room. Without a word, she left her son in a glowing wicker basket before disappearing into a golden cloud of dust. From then on, Dylan would live with his father, never knowing of his true lineage. For most of his youth, his powers were relatively calm, granting him a greater connection to life around him, until 2010. While on a school hiking field trip, Dylan’s class was stalked through the woods by the creature that would become the Injustice Teen “Friend”. The creature took an interest in Dylan, separating him from his class and cornering him. As Friend approached, she spoke to Dylan in her native tongue, threats, and incantations, but stopped once she heard him tell her to stop in the same language. Her eyes widened as he stood, his arm out and hand opened to her. With a flick of his fingers, Friend’s body slowly dragged towards him, her long bony limbs crawling on all fours until she was a few inches from him. She looked up at him in terror as his green eyes were now glowing an unnatural light. “Go.”, he said, in English, and just like that, she was gone, without a trace. A few moments passed before his eyes returned to normal and he fell back, only to be caught by a woman "as tall as the trees". It was then that he met his mother for the first time. He laid in her arms and stared into her eyes for what felt like forever, and her into his. When Dylan finally returned to his father the next day, he broke down and told him about the monster and the woman. After describing her, Julian admits that the woman was his mother. After that experience, Dylan changed, becoming more in tune with his abilities and stretching his powers farther than before. In 2011, he would come across Alchem and Somas while training in the woods. While Alchem was quick to dismiss Dylan, Somas instantly recognized him for who he was, seeing his bloodline as those of the Vanir gods. Not wanting to waste this opportunity, Dylan asked every question that swirled in his head for years. Seeing his potential, Somas recruited Dylan into the Justice Teens as his protégé, going by the codename Unity.
Personality: Dylan’s still young and figuring himself out. Though he’s not often brought on missions, he’s known by a good few of the league as he is trained by Somas and others, whether in hopes of becoming a good hero or a good person. He’s seen as a quiet young man but can talk your ear off once you get to know him. But as with most, there is a dark side to him, and this side stems from his Aseir bloodline. When overtaken by anger, his powers become more aggressive and he loses control of himself, usually in an attempt to kill whatever he views as a threat.
