Background: Che Mennillo was born in Havana, the Capital of Cuba. Over his life he had to deal with the oppressive nature of the government by watching them take friends and family and killing one of his cousins. Around 2001, Che’s parents were arrested because of “suspicious activity”, however there was never any evidence found. Che would spend the next couple of years with his cousins and immediate family which mostly lived in poverty. Starved, scared, and resentful of the government, Che begun following around with his cousins Camilia and Vinny, committing crimes to both survive and piss off the city. One day, in 2003, Che was caught and beaten by two policemen who would’ve killed him had it not been for the activation of his Meta-Gene. Quickly, Che learned that he had the ability to subjugate those around him and force them to follow his command. His first act was making the policemen beat each other to death. Che would live a moderately happy life by controlling those around him until his parents were released in 2007. He showed them his abilities and told them that he was waiting for them to be free so that he could take them out of Cuba and to America. During his time on the streets, Che came across a touring family who filled his head with ideas of the U.S. Though happy for their son, his parents declined, telling him there’s nowhere else for them than their home country. Not willing to continue under an oppressive system, Che left alone and stayed alive in the States by forcing others to take care of him until he was recruited by the Injustice Teens.

 

Personality: The violent switch from riches to rags scarred Che more than most realize. The struggles he faced while on the streets made him a bit of a cynic and his powers to subjugate people didn’t help. He’s used to getting his way but he’s not an idiot and knows that he has limits. He considers himself as working with the Injustice Teens rather than for, however Zero has proven that Che’s ability to control do not affect him. It is known though that he strongly believes in Zero’s future of a Meta controlled planet and his allegiance to him would gain him more control than his power ever could.
