Background: Cathrine Joy's life was the basic suburban, complete family, a happy life. She went to school at Central Point High as both an Honors Student and a Cheerleader and was well-liked amongst her peers. In early 2009, Cathrine's cheer team would travel to Metropolis to help their football team compete against the Metropolis Spartans, a local school team. During their tournament, both Sparky Arrow and Psi Lad of the Justice Teens were present. In the last quarter of the game, the bottom of the cheer pyramid broke, and Cathrine, the top part, fell hard down. During the fear and panic of both the cheer team and parents, Psi Lad used his abilities to keep Cathrine safe, both mentally and physically, as the fall caused a seizure. Psi's plan worked, however, after delving deep into her psyche and using telekinesis to keep her in check, he created a psychic bond with her as he unlocked telekinetic potential from within her. Later that week, Psi Lad contacted her, explaining to her the situation. Agreeing to meet him, Cathrine befriended many of the Justice Teens and was taken as a student by Psi Lad. Appreciating his help, Catherine took the name Ggal, where it came from however is never known.

Personality: Ggal's a kind spirit, almost rivaling Coffy during her early time on the team. Being a cheerleader, Ggal's capable of raising the team's morale along with creating bonds between others. Though only harboring telekinetic powers, she uses them as an act of defense as she does not favor using them to harm others unless pushed.

Ggal got her start after Psi Lad unlocked her psychic potential which she used to help defend the civilians of Central City. Though she is usually seen as sweet and bubbly, some members view that as a weakness as she is not willing to get into the actual fights and instead acts as a defense.
