Background: Growing up in New Orleans’ bayou, Sabine was taught by her family's matriarch, Mama Toussaint, the ways of their clan. For generations, the Toussaint clan was capable of utilizing alchemy to create potions and materials to keep their people safe from the threats that roamed the bayou, and also make a living by selling their concoctions to the people of New Orleans. In 2004, on the way home, Sabine and her brother Otie were attacked by a creature known as a Rougarou, and though she survived her little brother didn’t. Traumatized and angry, she spent years intensifying her studies in hopes of being able to find the Rougarou and avenge her brother. One stormy night in 2007, Sabine snuck out from her home to find the beast and kill it. Coming across it deep in the swamp, she quickly found herself outmatched, the creature chasing her through the murky waters and nearly killing her before being attacked by two gators, allowing Sabine to narrowly escape death. The next morning, her uncle Thomas found her body huddled in a tree and nursed her back to health, after that offering to teach her what her Grandma wouldn’t. With her uncle’s help, Sabine’s mastery of alchemy increased, as well as her understanding of the darker side of her family's abilities. Sadly, however, this was all done for a more horrific purpose. In 2010, long after the catalyst of Sabine's pain, Thomas revealed to Sabine and his family that he was the Rougarou, being cursed not long before he killed his nephew, he would use his mastery of alchemy to keep the beast at bay, but there was no true cure, and as long as the Toussaint family lived, the beast would continue to fight to claim their lives. Before the others could say a word, Sabine attacked, freezing one-half of the house and blowing her uncle through a wall and into the waters of the bayou, then sending an electric current that nearly killed Thomas, but not before the Roguarou emerged. With her family, they managed to mortally wound Thomas and revert the transformation. With his dying breath, he told Sabine he needed to teach her so that she could protect their family. Thomas would pass before revealing who or what Sabine would need to protect them from, leaving her just as empty as she felt when Otie died. She would spend the rest of her time in solitude, attending school, helping her mother collect rare plants, and practicing her alchemy until Kid Shift and a poisoned Impulse appeared on her doorstep one morning. She would help clear the magical toxins from Imp's body and send them on their way. Weeks later, Doc Sage would appear, this time greeted by the Mama Toussaint. Doc Sage would manage to meet Sabine and the two instantly hit it off, telling her he wanted to see some of the ingredients she used to help Impulse. It didn't take Sage long to tell Sabine has a supernatural ability and invited her to come to meet a few of his friends and the rest is history.
Personality: Alchem is very blunt with her words, and slick with her tongue. It’s often hard to get anywhere with her unless she’s willing, which is rare. After meeting others like her, Alchem opened up more, being open to spending time with the league outside of work. She has no problem taking a hit and sometimes wants to be, but she’s widely known for taking a very “explosive” route when it comes to ending conflict. In battle, she is essentially a ranged support class, using her potions to help boost her teammates; however, she's capable of inflicting incredibly powerful area-effecting attacks. Fiercely independent, and loyal to family, Alchem usually returns home for weeks before checking in with the team.

Character Summary: Pain and revenge guided Sabine, as it as so many others, but when she finally took it, there was only emptiness. Now, as the Justice Teen known as Alchem, she uses what she's learned to better not just herself but others and be with them in the darkest moments.
Appearance: Alchem is short and usually sways side to side when standing. Usually, she wears a green cloak over herself that covers her head down to her knees. Under that, she wears a sleeveless black tunic with some type of dark green armor padding over her breasts, stomach, sides, and entire back. Wrapped around her waist is a belt with small hooks that hold things such as potions and ingredients. She also wears these dark green bracers with occult symbols carved into them. She wears thin, nylon cargo pants that go down to her knees and these strange leaf-patterned wraps that only cover the top of her feet. She wears a gold nose ring and a gold anklet on her left leg.
