Background: Adeline Porter’s life was normal up until she was around ten years old where her powers emerged. Unfortunately for her, unlike many who gain the graceful ability to fly, or astonishing strength, Adeline’s gift granted her the ability to generate black holes, a power that will break her to her very core. Opening a black hole in the basement of her childhood home, Adeline killed her younger sister and destroyed the house. Unable to cope with what she had done, Adeline’s psyche snapped, and her parents gave her away to what was believed to be an asylum. Unknown to them, the asylum was a front for Elizabeth Right. With Adeline in her possession, Right used her to create catastrophic incidents around the world to raise Meta-Human awareness and capture those who answered danger’s call. Adeline would be known as Subject 493 until 2009 where the Justice Teens broke into her facility to free Kid Blurr. During the attack, multiple subjects managed to escape, Adeline being one of them. After learning of this, Patricia Nightly tasked the J.T with rounding up the escaped subjects which brought them across Adeline. Quickly recognizing her, Blurr and Shift attempted to talk her down, but it only resulted in a battle that nearly destroyed the city. She was defeated and put under First Defense’s watchful eye until later that year where Maximum Zero would free her, giving her new purpose as Abyssinia, to save others from Elizabeth Right and themselves.

Personality: Abyssinia was diagnosed with depression and bipolar disorder of the extreme type. She can be incredibly quiet and timid, not involving herself with the world around her, then she can be incredibly quiet and destructive, unleashing her anger upon the world. She follows Zero in his pursuit to bring the world to a new order but will never truly express how she feels.
